Commemorating 250 Years of America

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

When our founding fathers penned these immortal words in 1776, they did so without knowing that 250 years later we would still be reflecting on them. In fact, they signed at great risk to themselves and their families. Even so, they made a promise to one another at the end of the Declaration of Independence: 

"We mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” 

It is that pledge on which our country was built. A mutual understanding. A commitment to one another. 

In 2026, we commemorate not only the bravery of the founding fathers but the steadfastness of their legacy. Even after 250 years, Americans show up with courage in service to each other every day. 

As we wave our star-spangled banners in celebration, may we continue to pledge the best of ourselves to our communities and fellow Americans. 

We’re thankful for the privilege to be part of this great nation. Happy 250th Birthday, America!
