Core Processing Software-Hardware Analyst

Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides operational and technical support for core processing and related platforms by monitoring daily processing, administering application/server components, troubleshooting issues, coordinating changes, and partnering with vendors and internal teams to ensure secure, reliable, and timely delivery of services.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Administers, supports, and optimizes core processing and related applications/services to meet availability, performance, and security expectations.
  • Coordinates and executes configuration changes, patches, and upgrades using established change management and communication practices.
  • Supports onboarding and implementation of new applications and integrations, including requirements gathering, testing, validation, and production readiness.
  • Troubleshoots incidents across applications, infrastructure, interfaces, and batch processing; partners with internal teams to drive timely resolution and root-cause prevention.
  • Monitors daily and end-of-day processing (batch schedules, job streams, alerts) to ensure completion, accuracy, and timely recovery when exceptions occur.
  • Participates in an on-call rotation and provides after-hours support for critical processing, incidents, and maintenance activities.
  • Supports scheduled maintenance windows, releases, and project work, including occasional nights and weekends.
  • Creates and maintains documentation (runbooks, procedures, knowledge articles) and identifies opportunities to improve reliability through standardization and automation.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters impacting operations, risk, service levels, and customer experience.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally (verbal and written) with coworkers, leadership, vendors, and customers.
  • Collaboration is essential for this role. Remote work may be available periodically based on business needs; however, in-office presence is required.
  • Regularly exercising independent judgement and discretion over matters of significance. 
  • Communicate effectively in-person and otherwise with all coworkers and customers, both during regular business hours and before and after regular business hours, if necessary. 
  • Effective communication and collaboration are essential for this role. While remote work may be available periodically, there are times when being in the office is necessary to maintain our collaborative efforts. Therefore, this position cannot be primarily performed remotely.

 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Working knowledge of core processing platforms (Fiserv Premier preferred), including end-of-day processing, interfaces, and operational controls.
  • Working knowledge of content management/workflow platforms (Hyland OnBase/Director/Unity preferred).
  • Ability to monitor and respond to alerts, job failures, and operational exceptions using logging/monitoring tools and documented runbooks.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, servers, interfaces, and batch processing; able to perform root-cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
  • Experience following change management, release coordination, and documentation practices; comfortable creating clear procedures and knowledge articles.
  • Understanding of security principles such as least privilege, access reviews, and handling of sensitive customer and financial data.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to translate technical details for non-technical audiences and coordinate effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience supporting banking operations and/or a core processing platform (Fiserv Premier preferred), including batch processing and production support.
  • Experience supporting Hyland OnBase/Director (or similar document management/workflow platform) preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL Foundation, CompTIA, Microsoft, or vendor-specific) are a plus.

More Details

Generally, Mon - Fri 8am-5pm. Not a remote position. Applicants should be in the Omaha / Lincoln NE metro areas
