Jason Portz has been with Bank of Colorado since 2003 and holds the position of Market President in Durango. He graduated with a degree in Business Management from St. John's University and completed the Pacific Coast Graduate School of Banking at the University of Washington in September 2012.
Originally from a farm community in northwest Iowa, Portz moved to Durango after college to pursue a career in banking, engaging with various businesses and industries in the area. He has participated in several local organizations, serving on boards for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Durango Daybreak Rotary, Durango Education Foundation, and Durango Industrial Development Foundation. Currently, he is the Treasurer for the La Plata County Economic Alliance, Chair of the Fort Lewis College Foundation, and serves on the state board of Colorado Health Facilities Authority (COHFA) following an appointment by Governor Polis. Portz also completed the Leadership La Plata program in 2010.
